Q: Who and what is BungalowBranch?

We are most proud to answer this question because we get to say we are the only in-home child care company and franchise in the country! You know of the large day care center franchises…well, we are the home child care version. What this means is BungalowBranch is a community of systems, tools, resources, and support that helps and nurtures the whole child care provider, personally and professionally. Q: I’d like to join BungalowBranch but I’m not sure if franchising is best for my NEW or EXISTING home child care business right now. Can you help me decide?

The best way we’ve found to determine if franchising will give you the most exceptional results right now is to look at two criteria:

1. What is the current revenue in your home child care business you are growing right now? If you are making under $30K in your business, the benefit to franchising is we can help boost your home day care business’ sales significantly. Q: I make good money in my corporate career (example: $50K) but I want to transition into owning a home child care business so I can work from home. Will I make more or less from being a home child care provider?

We’ve found over the years that as an entrepreneur, you experience different “issues” that you don’t always experience when working a corporate career. How much you make as a home child care provider will depend on several factors, some which are mentioned above in the first question. When you work for yourself and are self-employed, comparing how much you make in your home day care business compared to what you made in your corporate job is really like comparing apples to oranges. This is because as a business owner, you tend to have more freedoms then you did in your corporate job. Additionally, your home child care business allows for a lot more tax deductions then what is allowed when you’re an employee for someone else. It really comes down to what is of most value to you and will best help you achieve your personal and professional goals. As part of the franchisee training program and process, we sit down with you and map out your goals to make sure you stay on track with your personal, business, and financial goals; no longer are you in this alone! It’s more common for us to see our franchisees make more in their home child care business than they did in their corporate career or other job, but regardless to how much they make, it’s unanimous that our franchisees feel more enjoyment in their career as a business owner and home child care provider. Q: BungalowBranch and its supportive programs sound great but I think I want to implement all this information on my own before I get started. Is this the right thing to do?

It’s been our experience, from helping other home child care business owners, that when they are left to their own devices to implement on their own, it inevitably fails. Why? Q: Where do the live events and meetings take place? I live out of the Columbus, Ohio, area. How do I receive my training and support outside of BungalowBranch’s corporate area?

Our live events take place in several different places. All initial and ongoing franchisee training through BungalowBranch takes place in Columbus, Ohio, where our corporate office is located. However, we have social events and client events that take place in the areas our franchised locations are located. Some of these events include holiday parties, networking days, professional development days, and company outings. And don’t worry, some of the training events at our corporate office in Columbus, Ohio, can even be accessed via Skype and other online meeting outlets, making attending the training sessions convenient and free of travel.

Q: I’ve noticed some of the franchisees have extensive backgrounds in child care. What if I’ve not gone to school for child development and/or worked in a child care center? Is this the right business for me?

Yes, regardless to how much child care experience you have or don’t have, BungalowBranch and it’s proven training system will help you grow your business to the next level as well as your knowledge on child development. Most of our franchisees are moms, so they have the best early childhood experience because they’ve learned firsthand, through their own children, what infants and toddlers need to grow and develop. Sure, there are things to learn on a deeper level about each stage of child development, but BungalowBranch’s training systems will help fill in these gaps. Even if you don’t have children or you’re an empty-nester, as long as you have a passion for working with children and meet the basic criteria on our application for what minimum child care experience we do require, then BungalowBranch will help get you and your home child care business to the next level.

Q: How many franchised locations are there and what’s the growth plan for BungalowBranch?

Currently we have a handful of locations in the East Columbus (Bexley), Ohio, area. We are looking to expand throughout multiple suburbs of Columbus, Ohio, as well as other cities and states. Our business model works in a cluster, meaning each neighborhood we are in we can have up to 5 BungalowBranch locations within one zip code area. The reason for this is our company’s foundation is built on community and support and the only way to have a supportive community, for both our providers and families, is to have a team and network in the same area, allowing everyone to lean on one another, gaining the support for a successful team. Currently, we are the only in-home child care company and franchise in the country so we are in the process of growing and scaling our unique concept, brand, and company. However, that being said, we are scaling cautiously and only partnering with those providers who share BungalowBranch’s mission and vision. We are a community-driven company and take great honor with a deeply rooted respect in our providers as well as the families we serve. Therefore growing our company the RIGHT way is much more important to us than growing BungalowBranch the fast way.
